The first week was HARD!! I don't like to be deprived or told what to eat ( I guess I am like most people) so I struggled through the first week. What made it fun, and therefore bearable, were the other Motivated Moms. Shopping together, sharing recipes and ideas, and exercising together (sometimes just two of us and sometimes more), was hilarious! The camaraderie and support were crucial — everything is more fun with your friends. Best of all, the first week, I lost 4 1/2 pounds!!!

With the weight loss behind me, I became really motivated. It really helped to get 2 packets of splenda and an extra snack a day every day. I could now respond to my cravings with smart choices, and I no longer felt deprived — or at least not as much. I will admit that it was tough making brownies for my son's bake sale this week. Oh, the sacrifices we make!

Even the exercise is beginning to feel good. Could a new way of life be emerging? We will have to see, but Icertainly hope so.

I continue to shop and chop (my Cuisinart has lost 3 pounds!), and do lots of food preparation, but the result is delicious and my family loves getting dinner every night....anyway, gtg, my turkey burgers are burning!
