Overcoming Temptation

I have now been on Joy's LIFE Diet for four weeks. I am really happy with my weight loss so far — 10 lbs. I am now wearing my smaller size jeans and that feels great! I really think that I can eat this way forever. I see this as a lifestyle change, not a diet. I am having a hard time staying motivated to exercise like I did for the first three weeks. I still exercise everyday, either a walk, spinning, yoga or resistance training, but I can't always find the time to do 90 minutes every day.
Tonight was the first time I was very tempted to have some ice cream.
I was having a stressful time with my kids, and my husband was making himself a big bowl of chocolate ice cream with hot fudge. That ice cream bowl almost spoke to me, saying "this will make you fell less stressed." I knew then that sometimes I use food as a way to comfort myself. That awareness helped me to resist the ice cream and eat some grapes instead! I know that had I had the ice cream, I would have felt guilty and unhappy with myself. So I feel good about my choice.
Being on the Today show was a blast! It was very exciting being in Studio 1A with Matt, Al, Meredith, and Natalie. They are all so nice and friendly. I received so many complements about how great we all looked on TV. It was all in all an amazing experience!
