How Sweet It Is

It's day six of the Joy LiFE diet and so far I have lost 4 lbs. The 4lbs. came off in the first 2 days and then I seemed to level off, which is a little frustrating. I have been weighing myself everyday and I think I will try to weigh myself only once a week from now on. But I am not too discouraged, especially because we have the best diet coach ever: Anne Marie!
The diet itself is very easy to follow. There is more than enough food. It's about making healthy choices, and not eating mindlessly, which is what I used to do. I have been walking every day for at least 45 minutes and taking a resistance training class almost everyday. In fact, Jill Goldman, owner of the RITE method, is sponsoring our team, the Motivated Moms, and offering us free private classes for the month of January, which is amazing! A huge THANK YOU to Jill! Her only stipulation is that we come at least 4 times a week. So I am definitely exercising much more than I used to.
The hardest part of this diet is not having any sweetener (natural or artificial) in my coffee or tea. I definitely have a sweet tooth! For the first few days I did not drink any coffee and I barely tolerated my tea unsweetened! Now, I am actually able to enjoy my coffee and tea unsweetened and I do not plan to go back to adding sweetener even when the diet allows me to. This has probably been one of the greatest gifts of Joy's LIFE diet for me.
I am looking forward to Step 2 when I can add one more snack to my day, especially because I miss having more fruit in my diet.
