10 Pounds Down!
January 12, 2009

Hi everyone, this is Basil (Maria's Husband) from Fit Friends. I believe my water has broken, I should be delivering my baby soon, ha ha ha... This is fabulous, Joy has really knocked it out of the park with this book. I am eating great tasting food without having to feel like I am on a diet. The food choices are plentiful which are filling and loaded with nutrition. No more Snowballs and Apple Turnovers for me.

Daout has introduced me to a new drink, he invited me down to the Sidewalk Bistro for a tasting. It is a great vintage, Chateau H2O, yep, Evian bottled water, it is in a glass bottle so it makes you feel better about the POUR. I was also a Diet Pepsi addict, I am so delighted to drop it and replacing it with water. My mother is also thrilled with this, my entire life she has nagged me to stop drinking soda.

The fact that Maria and I work together makes it easier when it comes to following the program and eating. Although we alway's tend to eat standing up between clients getting prepped or shampooed, drinking our water prior to the inhalation of food in the break room has helped to satisfy our appetite with the portion of meal. The preparation of food at home has also turned into a quality family time for all of us. The girls, Olivia (14) and Zoe (10) have been involved and are following the diet as well. Olivia has lost 7 lbs herself and we are so proud of her. We are not weighing Zoe, she is too young and will balance out by just eating with us.

The veggies! Wow, you really get to enjoy the natural tastes of these wonders of nature. I have an entirely new outlook on the necessity of them and how many different ways you can make them. Zoe and I love the banana stuffed peanut butter!

I can only say that my success of losing 10 lbs this past week is contributed to following the program and being dedicated to the exercise. You have to exercise to lose weight, whether by yourself or having to find a buddy like Joy suggests, you have to do it. I also believe that you have to eat consistently, don't let your body go into starvation mode otherwise you will be spinning your wheels and going no where.

I will check back with you later in the week as I aim for another 10.
