Ginger Green Tea

I love the aroma that fills my kitchen when I make this brew. Both ginger and green tea possess potent anti-inflammatory properties.

  • 1/2 inch(es) ginger, fresh with skin, sliced
  • 1 cup(s) water
  • 1 bag tea, green or 1 tbsp loose green tea leaves in a tea ball
  • 2 tablespoon milk, fat-free (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or honey (optional)

Bring 1 cup water to a boil. Add the ginger and boil for 30 seconds more. Remove from the heat, and add the tea bag or tea ball. Steep for 2 to 3 minutes. Stir in the milk and sugar, if using.

Note: Two tablespoons skim milk adds 10 calories. One teaspoon sugar or honey adds 20 calories.
