This recipe makes 1 serving
Ingredients:
  • ½ cup old-fashioned oats*
  • 1 apple, chopped
  • 2 teaspoons brown sugar (may substitute granulated sugar, honey, maple syrup, or sugar substitute)
  • 1½ tablespoons fat-free milk
  • ¼ teaspoon ground cinnamon
Preparation:

In a small bowl, combine the oats with 1 cup water and microwave for 2 minutes.

Add ½ the chopped apple, brown sugar, and milk and stir thoroughly. Top oatmeal with remaining ½ of the chopped apple and sprinkle with cinnamon. Microwave oatmeal for 1 additional minute and serve.

Tip: If you enjoy thinner oatmeal, add extra skim milk.

*Note: If you suffer from celiac disease, make sure oats are certified gluten-free.
